CFKOIL ALBUM
CFKOIL Album has a dual purpose. The first one is just a collection of songs like any album. However, a secondary purpose is that the songs are to be a ambient material for the multimedia story, made out of the text, videos, and music, that you can read on this page.
The album contains 13 songs and visual artwork. All the work is done by me and music is a combination of digital sound programming and analog sounds, voices, and instruments. It took me a very long time to make it, approximately 7 years, including post-production I have done in the home studio of my good friend Strahinja Milojevic.
Software used is Sound Forge, Fruity Loops Studio, Adobe Audition, and Reaper for mastering. Black Gold is made in Audacity. Different types of hardware were used as well. Song Monom is the first one I have ever done. The videos you can see here are part of this album.
Fun fact: When I was a kid, I used to love technology from an early age and I was especially fascinated with radio frequencies, especially low-band noise. Around 10 years old, I had a habit to switch different low-band radio stations, enjoying the mysticism of that noise, wondering what makes them, and recording them on tape. 20 years later I used the same material made back then in some of my songs and it fitted perfectly.
LOW FREQUENCY RIDER
This is a mini-lp, my first collection, and except song Monom, all of the songs are my first audio work, which started approximately in 2006. and was remastered in 2019. This collection contains 8 songs, including 3 versions of the song Low Frequency Rider that have 8 versions in total.
Song "Plan 9 from outer space" is dedicated to director Ed Wood, that thought me how to relax when doing art and why imperfection is the best way for the soul to express itself. Steinberg is a song dedicated to artist Saul Steinberg, to whose art I was exposed from an early age. Song 19.10.2006. is the audio work depicting a very special and dangerous event that happened in my hometown Cuprija, Serbia on that night, referring to the explosion of a military warehouse. I made this song day after and the sound you can hear aims to depict the chilling, emotional atmosphere of the event.
The software used was primitive in the beginning, it was early versions of Sound Forge and Fruty Loops. That`s why later remastering was required.
Numbers and Tastes is another mini-lp collection that came later, including remixes of Low Frequency Rider, Spinner, Cannery and Steinberg. "I see the Antennas" and "Curtains" are published as singles and "LFR Relay" is one more version of Low Frequency Rider. Except for these publications, I was also part of different collaborations, compilations and split collections, I will publish in the future.
CFKOIL music album is more then just a music. It is also dystopian, science fiction story.
